In situ activation of platelets with checkpoint inhibitors for post-surgical cancer immunotherapy
“Platelets can be used to deliver anti-cancer treatment to the site of a removed tumour, reports a paper in Nature Biomedical Engineering. The study in mice demonstrates the ability to harness the body’s natural response to a wound to eradicate any remaining cancer cells and halt tumour regrowth.”
