The U.S. Women’s National Team brought in an impressive $50.8 million from games between 2016 and 2018 – nearly $1 million more than their male counterparts. Despite this, the women’s national team makes significantly less than the men’s national team. The gender pay gap affects women across industries and deprives American families of economic opportunities. When women bring home less money, they have less for the everyday needs of their families. This year, I was proud to support the Paycheck Fairness Act to close the gender pay gap – the time for equal pay for equal work is now.
