Medicare for All is rebranded socialized medicine. It must be evaluated in that context. Would Medicare as it is know known cease to exist...of course. We had 100% of taxpayers supporting 20% of the population. Socialized medicine has 100% of the population supporting 100% of the population. Do the math. It either cuts back on services or dramatically increases taxes. Likely both. This seemingly benevolent program has unsought consequences like few will ever have. I am a senior. Better get my procedures done in the event that debacle kicks in. Improved health care needs real solutions and not warmed over socialistic promises that never are fulfilled.
My God!!! If Donald Trump says this, then we all know, it must be true!!!. I sure am glad you are helping to protect Medicare, you voted in the GOP 2019 budget to cut Medicare funding by 537 billion over the next decade. Thanks John.
You have zero credibility when it comes to a healthcare discussion. Would you like to share just how much money you receive from the insurance, pharmaceutical and medical lobbies?
So now you are trying to pit the young against the old, John Shimkus? Yes, it will affect Medicare. Medicare will actually improve because supplemental insurance will be unnecessary.
You do realize that working people pay into Medicare now as well as into their own private health insurance. The Medicare benefits the elderly get are supported by those working people.
The money that the elderly had paid into Medicare has been spent long ago. It is the workers today that are footing that bill as well as their own health insurance.
Medicare for all would allow everyone to have healthcare that we desperately need at affordable levels.
Shimkus, remember a while back when you were applauding that one day of free healthcare for your constituents? Instead of relying on one day of free charitable care for those you represent, how about you work towards giving everyone healthcare year round?
And since you are a fan of President Trump, even he wanted universal health care:“If you can’t take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it’s all over. I mean, it’s no good. So I’m very liberal when it comes to health care. I believe in universal health care. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better.” — Larry King Live, 1999
I have stopped wondering how you could believe the people are stupid, I think you are down to just hoping we are. Everyone get out and vote! I don't care which party you are for, what agenda you support, just do it! VOTE!!!!!
VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE THIS GUY OUT OF OFFICE. HE IS FOR THE ORANGUTAN, NOT HIS CONSTITUENTS. CHECK HIS VOTING RECORD AGAINST YOUR CONCERNS LIST FOR THE STATE. THEN VOTE HIM OUT.
A healthy population should be your top concern instead you're greed blinds you like many other "representatives" and leaves you unfit for office. You swore an oath, it just sucks that they were only idle words to you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. In the meantime, you Trumpers are plotting to destroy Medicare and Social Security completely. "Let the old people get sick and die" is your policy.
Representatives like you are the reason our country is the laughing stock of the world. It's weird how the only people that don't want universal healthcare are the politicians and massively undereducated. I have a tooth I can't have removed because I can't afford it. My girlfriend worked with pneumonia because she couldn't afford a trip to get a dr note to take off work. The only real obsticle is gross a misappropriation of our tax dollars by the extremely under taxed and over paid representatives in office. Y
