Single payer! The only fix is being sure every American has healthcare as a basic RIGHT of all Americans. I've availed myself of U.K. NHS as foreign tourist, but limiting care to our citizens is a good first step! Universal care for all. That's your answer.
Use this debacle as a learning experience. A replacement plan is needed that IMPROVES healthcare, not limits it for the betterment of the already rich.
Last week I called your Washington office, the voice mail was full. Called your Dallas office, the voice mail was full. I called your Houston office and finally spoke to someone. Senator Cornyn you work for Texans not for the Republican Party. We need affordable health insurance for ALL Texans. What health provider do you have Senator?
So please do your very best to take the time needed before rushing through a House vote tomorrow! Don't put the future of your most vulnerable constituents above party line votes!
some of the people we elected were conservative in name only. Quit the back room deals. Start listening to the people who elected you. Please do all you can to hurt the least amount of people. Yes, the ACA was a bad deal millions lost their coverage then and millions more lost reasonable access to care because deductibles became so high they had to forgo treatment/ doctor's visits, mammograms, MRI's. yes no GOP (house and senate) member voted for it.. But living without balance and living on extreme ends doesn't fix this.
In the end, property owners in Texas will be paying higher taxes in Hospital Taxes to cover the uninsured who will be treated in Emergency Rooms because they have no insurance and cannot pay their bill. There is a trickle down effect to not requiring people to carry insurance and it affects the rest of us. I cannot choose not to have liability insurance ion my car just because I don't think I'll have an accident. In the same way individuals should not be able to choose whether or not they want to carry health insurance thinking they won't get sick. Many(most) of us never have an accident in our vehicle, many of us never use our health insurance in a year. But when we do, it's there to take care of us and the cost to us is a lot less than if we had been uninsured. The proposed AHCA is flawed and will cause collateral damage to ordinary citizens down the line in ways we don't expect. Take more time and work all the bugs out. Get more insurers to guarantee that they will offer plans in Texas. Let Texans buy plans from other states. Open up the marketplace. Let there be real competition and then there will be real savings when there are more people in the pool. But, there must be a mandate, a stick. The carrot is not enough.
24 million Americans losing health care is a terrible plan... being wealthiest country on the planet, we must thrive to insure all Americans.... it means paying small price of $30 to $40 billion per year savings don't mean much.... health care means saving lives... if we care for unborn why not care for grown-ups?
Senator Cornyn-not quite clear on what you are saying , Are you for the limited repeal and the replacement? Because I thought you were for #FULLREPEAL. .
This is not repeal and replace. It leaves most of Obamacare still in place and another government program that hurts the American people. Repeal means to do away with Obamacare. We need for the market to be turned loose by allowing insurance companies to operate in all 50 states.
Don't push an ill-advised bill through right this minute just to make yourselves look good .... you did that before, and look what it got us!
