Um, NO. You seem to have forgotten Economics 101, so here's a recap for you:Q: When do businesses expand (build new factories, hire more people)? A: When there is greater demand for their product.Q: How then can the government help increase demand? A: Ensure there is money in the pockets of those who will be more likely to spend it such as those who are living from paycheck to paycheck already.Q: But won't businesses increase salaries (or benefits) if their aftertax profits go up? A: Unlikely, unless a labor shortage drives up demand for labor. Otherwise profit goes to shareholders to increase the paper "value" of the company.
Ask Kansas how well trickle down works. Then read the Paradise Papers to find out where the corporations hide the profit. (Hint-not putting it back in the US)
We the public remember the healthcare voteand we will remember the tax bill vote.AND WE WILL REMEMBERcome November 2018,2019,2020.
If things are so bad now, how come the ultra rich have enough cash to invest in you and your brethren, Senator? The only real "growth" to come of this turd will be the obscene return they get on their "investment" in you at OUR expense!
I don't think this is a good idea at all. You are basing this on how things "should" work, not how people actually behave. Please get your head out of the clouds.
The old "Piss down my back and tell me it is raining" story. If your middle class, kids moved on, and no spouse your taxes will go up. Quit sucking up. This is your last term. Don't base what your doing on climbing the appointment ladder that Paul Ryan controls.
I support bipartisan tax bills.
Mainly because the bills are complex and I don't have a good bead on the GOP's current motivations.
This bill increases Taxes on 1/2 of Middle America. Taxing college loans, expenses Teachers cover for school supplies...It’s like you figured how can we hurt middle income Americans the most, while we hand out Wealthfare? 80% of the cuts are for the wealthiest 1%, including a write off for Golf Course owners? What is wrong with you? Will you ever represent the needs of your constituents or just continue toting the party line to help your wealthy donors. We are sick of your con job politics.
Senator Pat Toomey, I do not understand how you can say these reforms and cuts are helpful for PEOPLE, for voters. There are many studies showing that they will actually raise taxes on the lower and middle class. The proposed cuts will benefit corporate interests, not PEOPLE. You are elected by PEOPLE. You represent PEOPLE not CORPORATIONS. I continue to be dismayed by the literal campaign you are on to highlight the tax proposal. You are ignoring your constituents but playing to CORPORATE interests.
Senator Toomey - if this "tax reform" goes through it will not be long before you and the GOP who support this will be found out. The middle/lower classes taxes will go UP and programs will be cut to help pay the millionaires their tax cuts and then your constituents will NOT reelect you.
