I was telling this guy once that I had tried airsoft once but ended up joining the military. That mother started accusing me of stolen valor.
I'm a god of pretend war. I've seen shit you couldn't possibly imagine. A German re-enactor that looked like he ate another human being. I've seen baking soda mills bombs take out an entire platoon. Harrowing shit man.
The best thing about this article: this is what Amazon shows as "related items" on their ad on the page hahaha
I'm almost 60 years old and a veteran.... the men to my left and right are combat veterans and we all play Airsoft. I have helped (Via being a role player) in training of law enforcement officers and active duty soldiers, both regular 101st and 5th group prior to deployment using airsoft rifles and pistols. These soldiers said that while on task during training, that when the ambush was sprung and the BB's started flying and hitting.. it gave them a different feeling as oppose to being shot at with blanks or MILES gear. It made them realize just how critical fast action drills and regaining fire superiority are to life and mission. The Man to my right suffers hard from PTSD and I worry about him daily. He not only plays, but also owns a small airsoft shop and does a hell of a business. Playing and working on airsoft equipment puts him at peace and gives him everything that veterans miss when when we ETS. You work missions, tactics and keep Gross motor skills and muscle memory in tact with like minded people. You also get to instill in our future generation of up coming Patriots a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. For those young men and women who are on the fence about joining the military or only hear the horror stories about piss poor NCO's and the non working chain of command that gave them a piss poor attitude towards the military.... You get a chance to change that image for them and also tell them of the fun times and the benefits of serving our country. So not only is it a tool to guide those young men and women who may have little guidance and encouragement at home, it is also of help to our returning veterans who may be lost and are having a hard time reentering into civilian life. I've delt with high speed low drag crew-served Ginzo shit brainwashed operators that look down on everyone else because they didn't have a lil black and gold tab and took that attitude back into the civilian world with them and had to remind them that they too were once young and "WANNA BE's"... Just my 2¢ and life experience..
Now, Im not defending tryhard airsoft kiddies who treat airsoft like real combat, but there is some merit to the sport. Give them real equipment, and some groups would be pretty effective, objectively speaking, like Green Mountain Rangers for example. Definitely better than ISIS fighters thats for sure. People underestimate the value of training with airsoft weapons. It very similar to using Simunition, or Blank firing.
Have you seen some of the Alloo Snackbar clips?I think the airsofters would stand a high chance of winning.Granted, it is possible that they'd all die of heatstroke if they put real armour in their plate carriers. It'd remove all of the problems with cheating and not taking your hits!😂
I quite like airsoft, I just wish there were less people pretending to be US special forces (I live in Britain) and more people who knew basic tactics and fieldcraft.
it for that "i was going to join the military bupt to much of a pussy to join" types. but seriously though i like it more than paintball but some of those guns cost as much as the real steel
For some people, airsoft it's just a game for other, a way of keeping your training fresh and stay fit for others a way of staying out of trouble (can kill people anymore) yes you will have your weekend warrior, or people that wants to do MILS because it's Kool like you may have a few that play Airsoft because it helps them control PTSD it all depends on the player and their background
I really don't get why you'd spend so long shit talking airsofters for no reason? Is it just you need some group to belittle? Does it make you feel any better about yourselves? They didn't do anything wrong. And yeah the ones who take themselves super seriously can be annoying, but this whole article was "airsofters are pathetic" "let's watch them die". Lots of wasted energy if you ask me.
Live and let live
