Yes, yes, we know. But what sort of jobs are they? Zero hours contracts and gig economy jobs do not make for stability and security for families. And if this is all such great news, then why are more working families than ever before needing to use foodbanks?
unemployment is low because they are refused benefits that they are entitled too. they are refused housing so they can not claim benefits. many who are now working are on ripoff wages that pay peanuts where they should be on realistic wages. your government is a flop of the century
People are in low paid jobs, with many going to food banks just to survive! How on earth is this good news????
Would be much better news for families in this country if you had walked out of talks with the EU and used the money you are setting aside to pay them off and for relocating the EMA and banking group to their new locations to help those Just About Managings you talked of when you moved into your new job. Unemployment figures would be even better if there were not so many people inour country. Think on Mrs May how would the whole of the conservative party mps losing their jobs reflect on unemployment?
Ha ha, if Teresa May announced that everyone in the UK was to receive a million pounds, a house and a new car you whinging whiners would still find something to scream about
What a joke, the quality of jobs have got significantly worse, zero hour contracts, lower wages with many on minimum wage only plus these figures will no doubt include part time work also futher distorting the figures.
OR are the people who have been pushed off welfare actually in jobs. These people are not counted as unemployed. Since we have an homeless epidemic perhaps this explains the figures.
If we truely had the lowest unemployment since the 70s then we would see wage growth, but we don't, so it is smoke and mirrors.
Always good news, but we still need to get wages up & cost of living down! The government should have been working that out long ago.
It's a poor comparison. 42 years ago, there was a lot more full time well paid skilled jobs and the cost of living was lower! Child poverty in the UK was unheard of.
Brexit is beginning to look as soft as cotton wool too. You have bowed to the power of unelected burocrats in Brussels and started to sell us short of the Brexit we voted for. It's UKIP for me and I suspect millions of others who loaned you or labour their vote feel likewise.
