I support the first part, then the second part seems to go ultra-uber left and ... I consider myself liberal ... the same sort of shit the right would do
I think that has been the most intelligent way to post on this issue I have seen. The confederate flag =slavery and racism stuff isn't accurate at all and just causes everyone to freak out. That's a new point of view that I think will ring more true with some.
Could NOT have said it better! Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, regardless if you agree or not. As appalling as it is, you accept the good with the bad, no matter if you agree with it nor not. That's the respect our flag represents.
My ancetors fought an died in the cival war an im a true american i will have the right to sport both the american flag an my conferate flag an no one has the right to distespect that an u r a ignorant fool if u try to
I dont sport the flag. But i support peoples right to express themselves. The flag may offend some. Yet it is also a symbol of pride for others. You can love both . Same as flying a state flag and US flag. The confederacy is a defunct subculture of American history and if someone is proud to be an heir they have that right. I think letting your pants sagg below your ass is offensive, rediculous and represents past crimes against humanity (prison rape). Yet i just put up the the millions of idiots who have trouble crossing the street to show off their pride.
Dude - if YOU didn't fight in the Civil War (which was not very civil) you have no right to address anyone about said war. Get over yourself. Live in today. Any day further back than TODAY is past addressing at all. The past can not be changed and is best left alone - much like sleeping dogs. Worry about the problems YOU have today with YOUR problems. Go to your bathroom, look in the mirror and find that guys faults and correct them. I don't know a single person old enough to have been there back then and neither do you. Quit trying to pretend to judge anyone else for anything else. If it didn't touch you - don't even think about messing with it.
Next time someone offers a dissenting opinion about this flag issue, those offended by the flag could save some energy by sticking to the subject at hand rather than automatically assuming that the "troll" whose comment they are replying to is a "Trump supporter", "Republican", against the affordable care act, doesnt believe in climate change, a misogenist, or a homophobe. If you would stick to the issues at hand and avoid all those other assumptions, it might more closely resemble a real conversation and it might lend more credence to the idea that you understand the concept of dealing with people as individuals rather than a stereotype.
Amen you got that right, if not for the north winning the rebellion of the south, where would we be today. Stand up for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, A MANY OF MEN HAVE DIED FOR THE FREEDOM WE HAVE TODAY. I'm proud to be an American, BORN IN THE USA.
TOUCHE ' sir ! Or should I say he'll YEA something the simple will get without explaining the word and it's meaning !
Yeah,I don't understand the whole thing...it's like playing qb for both teams in the super bowl...so I asked myself why would people be on both sides of this?....then I thought to myself "what's the common denominator between the confederates & Americans that likes this confederate flag & culture"?....there's only one answer to that & i don't have to say it,you can see it for yourselves
